Dumbarnie Links is the newest and most exciting course addition to the Kingdom of Fife. Opened in 2020 and designed by Clive Clark, it plays along a spectacular stretch of the Fife coastline overlooking Largo Bay, with the East Neuk villages and the Isle of May visible on the horizon. In just a few years since opening, it has established itself as one of the finest new links courses built anywhere in the world.
The Dumbarnie Links project was the ambition of Sir Fraser Morrison, who secured one of the last truly great pieces of linksland on the Scottish coast. Clive Clark's design uses the site's natural ridges and dunes to create a course that feels far older than its years, with wide fairways, imposing rough, and green complexes that reward creative links thinking. It quickly attracted the attention of the professional game, hosting DP World Tour events within two years of opening.
Dumbarnie represents a rare thing — a genuinely world-class links course that is also brand new. There is no waiting list culture, no decades-old restrictions on visitors, just exceptional golf on a spectacular site. For guests visiting Fife, it sits alongside Kingsbarns as an essential addition to any itinerary.
